GAIL India among the Top Indian Companies on CSR

GAIL (India) Limited has been ranked 11th amongst India’s Best Companies for CSR 2014 as per the recently published study by ET together with Futurescape and IIM Udaipur

 The study looked at top 115 Indian companies to arrive at the ranking. It covered industries as varied as automobiles, banks, diversified, FMCG, infrastructure, information technology, metals and mining, oil, power, steel, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and others.

The Companies are being ranked based on their focus on CSR and Sustainability by creating a combined score that weighs each of the 4 parameters Governance, Disclosure, CSR Stakeholders and Sustainability. The scores are arrived at by evaluating each companies Sustainability/ Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) report by analysts who scored based on a number of dimensions under the four parameters

GAIL Ranked 97 On Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings 2014

We’ve been ranked 97 on Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings.

Platts is a provider of energy and metals information and a source of benchmark price assessments in the physical energy markets. Its annual Top 250 rankings recognise outstanding accomplishments of the top performing energy companies around the world.

We were placed 105 on the same rankings last year.

Of the 13 Indian companies on the list (PSU and others), we are 7th. We would like to congratulate our peers in the industry and wish for a secure energy future for India.

GAIL Ranked 33rd in BT’s India’s 500 Most Valuable Companies

This year’s Business Today – India’s 500 Most Valuable Companies ranking has given us 33rd rank for the year 2014.

We’ve improved over last year’s ranking of 34. Among other energy sector companies, our partner businesses like Petronet LNG, Indraprastha Gas are also listed in the Natural Gas sector. We have fared ahead of other PSUs i.e Bharat Petroleum and Oil India.

PSUs in the BT 500 show a 31 per cent rise in combined market capitalisation. ONGC has achieved a major upset by taking over the place of Reliance Industries as the 2nd most valuable Indian company.

Young Woman Executive of the Year

It’s a proud moment for GAIL(India) to inform you all that Ms.Shweta Sharma, Manager (Project Execution) posted at Ratnagiri Gas & Power Pvt. Ltd. has received ‘Special Technical Award’ in the category “Young Woman Executive of the Year”.

The award was presented by Shri MA Pathan, Former chairman of IOCL and Shri Sudhir Vasudeva, Chairman Petrotech, CMD ONGC in “PETROTECH 2014” held at Greater Noida.

GAIL receives Award for green building

The Administration Building at GAIL Chhainsa Compressor Station Complex was awarded as 4 Star GRIHA Rating, at GRIHA Summit 2014 held on 16th  January 2014 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The GRIHA Plaque was received by ED (Projects) from Mr. Tarun Gogoi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam and Dr. RK Pachauri, Nobel Laureate & Director General, TERI. GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) is a green building rating system in India, conceived by TERI and adapted by Government of India as a national rating.

The GRIHA Accreditation for Administrative building at Compressor Station Complex, Chhainsa will stand as a testimony to GAIL’s dedication towards making every effort for efficient use of energy and synergizing the built environment with the natural ecosystem.
