  • hello!,I like your writing very a lot! percentage we communicate more approximately your article on AOL?
I require an expert on this space to unravel my problem.

But, consider this, suppose you typed a catchier post title?
I ain’t suggesting your information isn’t good, but suppose you added something that makes people
want more? I mean Do You think Nature & Development
goes hand in hand – GAIL Voice is a little vanilla.
You should look at Yahoo’s home page and see how they
write news titles to get viewers to click. You might add a video
or a related picture or two to get readers interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it might bring
    your blog a little livelier.

  • whoah this weblog is fantastic i love studying your articles.

    would be greatly appreciated!

  • Moore explains in his newest book, The Developing Genome , this burgeoning field reveals that what counts is not what genes you have so much as what your genes are doing. Factors like stress, nutrition, and exposure to toxins all play a role in how genes are expressed—essentially which genes are turned on or off. Unlike the static conception of nature or nurture, epigenetic research demonstrates how genes and environments continuously interact to produce characteristics throughout a lifetime.

  • I do not doubt it.
It seems magnificent idea to me is
I apologise, but, in my opinion, you commit an error. Let’s discuss it.
I join. I agree with told all above.

We owe this planet to the next generation, and already enough harm is done. The best we can do is to curtail the losses and ensure that we leave enough resources for our children so that they can live a full and happy life.

  • Shahid Jamal

I have read somewhere that Mother Earth is able to fulfill each and every need of human being but not the greed.
Yes, I do agree that nature and development may go hand in hand if done sustainably.

The thing that needs to be realized in this thought process is that our tolerance level over a period of time has reduced considerably allowing us to indifferently compensate with the health of nature. No one wants to be taught. Even after seeing the destructive outcomes, not much has changed. Environment concerns are still at the least priority at the cost of development. The only fear that rises intermittantly is of the statutory bodies who also cannot put an eagle eye on each and every action we are making.. We have forgot to forsee . And that may be the reason we are unable to contemplate the denoument our offsprings are going to face. We are not enjoying for sure what our grand parents used to and the trend shall continue if the awareness remains dead. I don’t think this realization is going to come so soon unless people start leaving their motives to be extremely materialistic and start looking towards the gift that nature in its core still has for everyone.
Development is a manmade event for making lives easy and many times it’s a result of human curiosity. But science and invention have brought various shades of change that has impacted our lives in several ways. I think time to retreat and reverse has passed. Since there is no technological development without dependency on nature and due to the inheritance of loss that mankind has himself collected in all these years, I think nature and development to walk parallely needs a complete change in the fossilized mindset.

  • By having a positive & sustainable approach towards nature, both development and nature can go hand in hand but we need to optimise both the parameters. The world’s need for food, water, energy and minerals is growing. These demands combined with population growth, unchecked development and climate change are putting even more pressure on the planet. To meet our future needs, we have to make smarter decisions now about how we protect, manage, and develop our lands and waters. WE have already altered nearly half of the lands on earth. And, over the next ten years trillions of dollars will be invested in energy, mining, and infrastructure development around the world—much of it will take place in undeveloped natural areas like our mountains, deserts, plains, oceans and rivers. Decisions are being made today that could change the way we develop these important natural areas, and the Nature Conservancy has developed the science to enable governments, companies, and communities to use and share space, protect natural areas, improve resource management, and invest more wisely for a sustainable future.

  • Prashant Rathor

It is true that development comes with loss of nature. However, it can always be compensated (if not avoided) in many other ways. For example, if u are to shed trees for road expansion, try to avoid it by acquiring a parallel strip of land along old highway which is full of trees all along. And if it can’t be done, develop a nature park which will have 20 times more trees in lieu of trees sacrificed for the development of road.

  • Amit Tyagi

“Mother Nature had enough to fulfill our needs but not our greeds” .More important is that in my view We as Human Beings always want to ‘EVOLVE’ but in a macroscopic view it is always on individual, level, the moment each of us takes it to group to community to country & then to humanity level , definitely nature will always be their with development.

  • Hussain Ali

Well said !!! . we do need to ponder on our model of development.

  • VIVEK KUMAR

Development and evolvement are quite natural phenomenon of existence. Problem starts when we start manipulating existence for development. We need to develop but maintaining dignity of existence.

  • In real, nature and development should go in such way that it will remain balance. Practically, it is not happening. We are using all the natural resources ,took million years to get the lattice structure. We are planning , thinking but acting little slow. When we are acting at that time it is very difficult maintain sustainability.

Today, we are talking sustainability because we are looking that it is required. It is not to be. Development is the need of today, our status has grown up. We require infrastructure , energy , water and of course clean air. Let us think a moment, whether , we are making any contribution wherever we are living in village or in city, Not at all.

Now, time has come for act and we should make an effort or a commitment that whatever we are taking from nature we will main the balance with development and sustain the gift of nature for coming new generation.

  • Hussain Ali

It is well know that development is done at the expense of environmental degradation. There exists a fine ecological balance between biotic and abiotic components which makes life possible on earth which has been disturbed to alarming level in last couple of decades & needs to be restored to sustain life in future. Hence the benefits derived from the nature must be paid back. For example if the trees are being cut for infrastructure development same number of trees must be planted elsewhere to compensate the loss. Alternative sources of energy must be promoted . All the world leaders should think of the welfare of mankind instead of serving their individual aspiration. It is the collective effort which is required as degradation done by one entity affects the whole mankind.

It is to be further noted that development is natural progression and inevitable , therefore we all should strive to take nature along with development.

  • s c sharma

yes, by consider nature as our mother and while developing taking care of nature like our mother.

  • Ashu Shinghal

I cannot but agree with you completely……

  • Sushil Kumar

Yes I agree that Nature and Development goes hand in hand. A sustainable development can only succeed when we take consistent account of environment aspects.

  • N Ganesh

It can go hand in hand provided, it should be our attitude that we compensate the nature by planting more trees, creating green environment and using the natural resources in an optimum way, since, Development is the need of the Human for betterment in life. For the sake of development , we must need to do major changes in the existing natural resources.

It is all Human ATTITUDE that ensures both nature and Development goes hand in hand

  • Manish Mate

Utilizing Natural Resources by mankind is a huge responsibility and so is developing our race. A well planned & thought project which incorporates all the resources utilization and detail assessment of impact on environment can surely pave path for sustainable development. Its our responsibility to restore natural resources while enduring development. We should adopt a philosophy of consume less and give more which would definitely lead to greener planet earth and all inclusive growth and development for individuals and nation as a whole.

  • Nature and Development does go hand in hand as long as we protect our Wonderful environment and make it eco-friendly. The Resources become extinct when we don’t recognize it importance. Hence, it is our Responsibility to safeguard our available resources for a better tomorrow for the future Generations to come.

  • Puttan maurya

Nature is not a drag on growth – its protection is an unavoidable prerequisite for sustaining economic development. The reality we inhabit is somewhat different, however. One hundred per cent of development activity is dependent on the services and benefits provided by the nature. We must realise that nature is a supplier of services, an inspiration for design, and our greatest ally in securing human needs indefinitely into the future, and that conclusion is based not only on a great deal of ecological science, but also a huge body of economic evidence.

  • R.A. VERMA

IF WORLD COME IN DISCIPLINE THEN BOTH CAN goes hand in hand otherwise no.

  • S. Dasgupta

The fact that development has taken place at the expense of nature as our civilization has progressed is well known. This, despite the knowledge that we were only inviting our nemesis for our future generations. Indiscriminate use of natural resources, massive deforestation and our insatiable hunger for comfort has left Mother Nature imploring for help. Global warming, polluted resources and environment, health problems and a horde of other problems have forced a re-think. We have now realized that nature and development has to go hand in hand if we need to sustain life.

It’s important to recall the old proverb in these trying times – “We have not inherited this planet from our forefathers, we have only borrowed it from our children”. So let us all strive to preserve and nurture nature while we carry on with our development programmes. In every aspect of development, there are an eco-friendly ways of implementation. There is no doubt that governments and businesses across the globe have a decisive role to play but at the same time every single person on this planet also has to contribute by imbibing eco-friendly measures in their day-to-day life. It’s never too late to mend our ways.

  • ARABINDA SARKAR

Yes. Nature is designed in such a way to accommodate the appropriate Development. We just need to look for the means to develop appropriately.

  • Sandesh Kumar Naik

It depends on how one defines the development. If development is defined as a human evolution or progress in broader terms, then yes development and nature does goes hand in hand whereas if development is defined as rapid and unmindful industrialization then it is at the cost of nature.

  • Imagine few important things?

Imagine a world where business is celebrated for contribution to environment and society. Business is one foundation stone of balancing environment and flourishing society.

Imagine a world where the key question in business is ‘Why’? Think beyond the conventional discourse of business – who, what, where and how?

Imagine evaluating a business based on purpose as well as profit. Re-connecting and re-imagining an individual business makes to environment as a direct function of its core business.
Imagine a world where personal, business, environmental and societal success are inseparable. How can business build trust in the society, rooted in explicitly shared goals?

When businesses/organizations has vision of “sustainable value creation” for everyone (society, environment, business) as a long term intent through its robust voluntary standards and building partnerships, the imperative of development and well-being of nature can be achieved at the same time.

  • Zeeshan

Nature and development will surly go hand in hand. while we go for development its nature and natural resources which makes this development sustainiable. the problem has grown when the developer bypasses or missuses the nature for the sake of profitability and doesnt think for the future. so nature and development will always go in tandem.

  • Neelesh Shukla

Of course Yes. Nothing is impossible in this World, what is important is to understand how to strike that Golden mean which would negate any chance of achieving one at the Cost of other. This is where Sustainable development comes in. Developing Country like ours need to be more sensitive to achieving this balance from two view points. One, in terms of changed international perception that judges a project’s success also in terms of Environment friendliness and second, the learning from West that concerns for Nature cannot be isolated from Developmental activities. We are still not taking enough initiatives towards protecting Nature. As an indicator, our forest cover is just around 19% which is far behind the International standard of 30%, Coal-the largest energy contributor is still extracted from age old traditional methods which results in achievement of less califoric value and increase in ash content, etc. Nature and Development SHOULD GO and CAN GO hand in hand but it does require concerted efforts not only on part of Government or concerned departments, but EVERY Citizen who should contribute his efforts to the best of his/her capacity.

Nature and Development does not go hand in hand , but they SHOULD go hand in hand. What we wish needs to be translated in action. There are umpteen ways in how we make nature and development complementary to each other and also number of ways how so called development can harm nature. It is upto us how we perceive them and how we execute them

  • Ashu Shinghal

We exist in Nature and we cease to exist without nature. By our existence itself we damage and leave a footprint on nature.

By development we perhaps only mean to increase our ‘comforts and convenience’. They are not necessary for life but are creating an indelible mark on nature itself and creating several imbalances in nature. These imbalances are manifesting in various forms of diseases and endangering life itself.

At the name of development we are perhaps playing with nature, polluting it in several ways, developing habits and ways of living that are not sustainable.

Imagine the case that in the name of development, if developing countries also reach anywhere near the level of per capita energy consumption of some of the developed countries, what will happen to nature?

We cannot blindly endorse development yet we cannot deny development for meeting basic needs. Perhaps a perfect balance is required, which is actually very difficult to achieve, yet it is not impossible.

  • K K Ghosh

For any development, we need nature’s support and for any development to be sustained, sustainable support from nature is essential.

But does the nature need the support of development? ………

So nature & development are complementary to each other

  • BIBHOOTI PRASAD

The nature of our future depends upon the Nature’s future.

  • Lalit Maurya

Yes, only if they are harnessed in an optimum way. Ideally there must be a right mix of both. One of these should not be pursued at the cost of other.

  • Mrs Parveen Khullar

Natural & Semi Natural Eco Systems and Development co exist. Creating a ‘green’ economy, focused on environmentally friendly investments that create ‘green’ jobs, means economic growth, the reduction of social polarization and combating poverty,”

  • S.K.Mantri

Development can be on natural as well as man made front. Balanced approach is required to achieve the ultimate goal by optimisation in both fronts.

  • Parth

When we talk about the development it is the development which is holistic, that includes the development of natural resources also , we can not produce it but we can preserve them and optimize its uses. This will lead to the simultaneous walk of nature and development.

  • Sanjay Kumar Singh

Nature and Development are synonymous to each other if we follow certain guideline.Like suppose for setting up a plant we have to cut thousands trees and we may exhaust certain amount of Co2 hen for having a eco balance we shall inplant more than thousands trees.

Further technological advancement on the front efficiency in burning of fuel will also give us more output/say desired result with less inpur/say less disturbance in nature.

  • Umakant Tripathi

Nature is the mother of all living species. Love it, respect it and enrich it , we will get immense joy and pleasure.
There are three mothers on our planet to care and respect , one is our genetic mother , another is mother land and third is mother earth.
I would go with nature , rather then with development.

  • Ashok kumar Sahani

Development is at the cost of nature . So Development & nature does not go hand in hand

  • AJAY JINDAL

Nature and Development can go hand in hand if the stairs leading to development is in conjunction with the environment. The same can be executed through “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”. Sustainable development as an approach to environment implies meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their needs. If there is a lack of coordination between these two factors, then environment get damaged. So in view of it, Development not at the cost of Nature imbalance should be evaded, and SUSTAINABLE APPROACH should be followed.

  • ANURAG SHARMA

If only we can see things in grey, nature and development can complement each other. Any absolute position in black or white would unnecessary complicate things. Life is all about making a balance between choices. same thing applies to environment as well. However, few things may be absolutely non-negotiable. One has to priorities things e.g. poverty alleviation will have to take precedence over ambient emission norms. Larger good for the country and entire population will have to supersede concerns of few affected. Moreover biggest polluters in the world are the once who proudly call themselves ‘Developed’. India has miles to go before she makes her citizens empowered and offers a dignified life. Till then ideological activism will have to take a back seat.

  • Atul Saxena

There is a growing body of evidence that suggests that growth alone is not enough to improve wellbeing and that inequality is rising. Several high-growth countries in Africa having slipped down the Human Development Index. There are also indications that non-inclusive green growth models are risky – external interests have been acquiring land and natural resources on the basis of the rapid gains in GDP they can generate, but at the expense of local people’s access to the environmental assets they need for their own prosperity.

  • Yes, nature and development can go hand in hand as long as it is a sustainable and to meet the needs but not greed of mankind

  • अवधेंद्र कुमार

    प्रकृति और विकास दोनों मानव जीवन के लिये अपरिहार्य हैं. अत: हमें दोनो के बीच संतुलन रखना होगा.

  • S.K.Musalgaonkar

Yes, both can go hand in hand .Infact it is the need of the hour and responsibility of one and all to see both co-exist for survival of mankind on earth. ,

  • Sanjay Mathur

Nature is our Mother and Development is our Need.
We call Nature as our Mother which looks after our basic Needs. Development at the cost of Nature is not in the best interest of the Human race. Therefore Nature and Development must grow with Hand in Hand.

  • Prashant Bedwal

All the development around the world is all because of the NATURE….
    the simple understanding is…..

“if all of over DEVELOPMENT around us is being sustained by NATURE than there shouldn’t be any doubt that our DEVELOPMENT should be so that it can sustain NATURE”
Its the era of Sustainable Development….

  • Any development when starts leads to enhancement in entropy as the process follows the principles of project management with resource utilization, definite start and finish dates. Its irreversible.

Nature on the other hand is quasi static and emerges out of complex action of natural forces.

One can therefore oneself conclude, if Nature & Development goes hand in hand.

  • k.krishnakumar

Not at all. Both are contradictory to each other. All the natural processes are very slow and irreversible. We need a lightning speed process. Speed of process is proportional to damage each other (nature and development). No way to get an equilibrium between these two but controllable.

  • Yes, both goes hand in hand. But, the doctrine of sustainable development is not an empty slogan, it is required to be implemented taking a pragmatic view.

  • MURLI MANOHAR

Do You think Nature & Development goes hand in hand
I SAY THIS QUESTION/DEBATE IS WRONG, BECAUSE WITHOUT NATURE DEVELOPMENT IS NOT POSSIBLE,ALL RAW MATERAILS COMES FROM NATURE DIRECTELY EITHER INDIRECTELY.
QUESTION SHOULD BE WHAT IS THE RATIO OF INCREASE IN NATURE & DEVELOPMENT.

  • Naresh Kumar

Yes definitely, If thinking and attitude is positive both nature and development can goes hand in hand. we try to every time to save the nature,as well as development work .

  • Vivek Mishra

Development and nature can go hand in hand only when we seriously think about sustainable development, must think of recycling and avoid excessive take only attitude.

  • Mukesh Kumar Mishra

I think that Nature is everything and we are also part of this environment. DEvelopment is rsult of innovation which can not be checked. All innovations are not having damaging nature but some of them. It means selection of innovation is important. dEvelopment should be done in that way. Further, it is required to urtilize the nature to provide benefit to living element in such a way. Connectivity of rivers is the one of the best example in this regard.

  • Naresh Kumar CPF 4532

yes definitely , Nature & development goes hand in hand if human thinking and attitude is positive in concerned Nature as well as development..

  • Sashi Menon

Nature & Development does not go hand in hand, one is at the cost of other. But the answer to which one is better is in your hands.

  • Nature & development must go hand in hand. These are like the two legs for human being to exist & grow. By exist means existence in honour & by grow means flourish without suffering. if there is no development, the ONLY nature may not gives us the facilities we have and without natural beauties in our surroundings, the development is of no use.
Our Nation is at developing stage, we should have to be extra cautious for protecting our environment but at the same time the so called dramatic NGO’s who rank themselves contractor of protection of environment should not come on the way to the genuine projects which are important for building the Nation. all the best.

  • B.Taid

We must remember that reversing/challenging the power of nature is always painful in long term at the cost of development/comfort . However, so called changes, evolution ,development is in fact inevitable in a lifecycle of any system, entity, human being and essentially the development is not encouraging without cares of nature.

  • Ashish Kesarwani

More often, we find developmental activities are at the cost of nature and ecology. We build roads, ports, bridges, railways, airports, dams, wind mills and various kind of industries viz. oil & gas, chemical, power, metal & cement etc. and we change or modify original structure of environment and surroundings in one or other way.

We always try to extract every possible thing from earth and ocean through exploration, mining, drilling and heavily polluting atmosphere in the form of radio waves, green house gases and chemicals. I think, we are sparing nothing. Even if God is salable, we will buy it as His resemblance i.e. Nature , we are acquiring, capturing, altering and exhausting.

How long with such a rising population and creeping demands ? Can we sustain for very long, I doubt! Very real and complex problems are bound to arise and seems not very far.

Why today, we are so much obsessed with chemical free foods and drinks, fresh water, organic fruits & vegetables, fresh air, health, mental peace & stress-free life, last but not the least obesity free body structure.

After covering such a long distance on the way of development, we want to get the same things which were easily available at the start of our journey. Sometimes, it gives me the feeling of real paradox and a laugh!

We need to look back & think… Today, we are facing many problems like temperature rise, climatic change, melting of glaciers, deforestation, extinction of large nos. of animals and birds, polluted foods, polluted atmosphere, polluted water bodies, lifestyle related diseases, stress and the biggest one energy crisis. The whole global economy is swinging on one word ” Energy”.

I think development and nature can be in sync only when we seriously think about sustainable development, recycling of resources, curtailing our energy demands & wastage, removing global disparity in economy, energy consumption and human development index. European union has 2600 KWH per capita energy consumption against 288 KWH in urban India.

We really need to enlighten ourselves that energy can not be created, it can only be transformed, lets not irreversible transform the mighty Nature and face the consequences later which we find unable to handle. We have to settle ourselves in between, in equilibrium.

  • Kuldeep

Development is like a improved version of existing structure mainly to minimize human sufferings and to maximize benefits to human.

Nature is that stable portfolio of the Earth which got evolved in millions of years to sustain life.

In development we rearrange existing structure to get most out of it. So in a way we affect stability and structure of Earth’s Nature (case to case quantum varies).

On Question whether Development and Nature goes hand in hand?
It depends on effect of development on stability of nature. Most of the development disqualifies but only few with sustainablity and least interupption in nature’s arrangement qualifies.

  • Ashutosh

Both are complimentry to each other. Thus both needs to be optimised.

  • ALOK KUMAR SRIVASTAVA

Yes Nature and development can go hand in hand provided adequate measures is taken for environment protection.

  • Ajay Deep Sharma

Yes, it is possible by fostering economic growth and development while ensuring that natural assets continue to provide the resources and environmental services on which our well-being relies. For this to accomplish it is required to catalyze investment and innovation.

  • Jose Mathew

Nature (Earth) came into existence first. It only gave birth & nourishment for further growth, whether human growth, intellectual growth, industrial growth, scientific growth etc. So, destroying it indeed is cruel. Nature can only give basic necessaties. Rest comes only after that. So both nature & development are two twins. Natural gifts such as air (for breathing), water (for drinking), land (for dwelling), river, sea, hills etc. only allows mankind to exist and grow further. Polluted air, impure water etc. shall destroy the mankind itself.

  • Deepak Kumar Varshney

Yes Nature & Development goes hand in hand. at present more then 70% energy needs for development are fulfilled by fossil fuels, but as the name suggests “fossil” fuels are formed from the fossil of Biomass and if one time biomass on earth surface can cater the need of more than 100 years, then the efforts put to utilize the vacant surface of earth & convert whole the biomass available the earth which is inefficiently or even wastefully burned is converted into fuel gas by the process of biomass gasification we can easy fulfill our needed energy for development by naturally available fuels and reducing greenhouse gases potential… thus Nature & Development can go hand in hand…….

  • KAPIL BIRDI

Yes definitely, If thinking and attitude is positive both nature and development can goes hand in hand. The case of Singapore is a shining example to watch and learn for.

  • Ankur

If sustainability of nature is given equal importance as that to development, then both development and nature can go hand in hand.

  • S P KUJUR

Yes I agree that Nature and Development is goes hand in hand
