The origination of Environment day began with the beginning of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in 1972. However the first World Environment Day was observed on 5th of June1973.
Since then the World Environment Day is celebrated on the 5th June every year. The major agenda of the day revolves around raising the awareness level about depletion of environment, its implications and measure to correct the same.
GAIL (India) Limited over the years has exhibited its commitment towards the resorting the environmental balance. However a company of more than 4000 employees can bring about a dynamical change with more focussed efforts. So this Environment day every member of the GAIL family will plant a tree to support the much needed green initiative.
