GAIL India Limited, the Youngest, Fastest Maharatna among all Indian PSUs, a USD 9.5 billion company with 4000 employees has one of the best turnover to employee ratio in the world. These are some achievements we take great pride in, and embody the same efficiency in whatever we do.
We always embark on ideas that embody this zest for moving ahead to reach greater heights, everyday being the fastest and youngest in every field.
On 22nd September, 2014, we started a unique search, a search to find the next star olympian, #GAILTheFastestIndian. Being in the energy business, we know that exploration takes its own time and that’s why we are looking for India’s fastest 12-14 year olds, who can be groomed for the 2020 olympics, the next ‘Milkha’!
To keep the spirit alive and encourage India in taking a step towards finding young and fast individuals that can bring the country into the Olympics, we embarked upon a new adventure.
We are now proud sponsors of the team Micromax INDIAN ACES of INTERNATIONAL PREMIER TENNIS LEAGUE (IPTL).
IPTL, officially the Coca-Cola International Premier Tennis League, founded by Mahesh Bhupathi in 2013 and launched in November 2014 with a total of 29 players has 4 franchise teams – The Philippines, Singapore, India and the UAE.
The INDIAN ACES team is the most star studded of all teams – Indian stars Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna, superstars of tennis – Roger Federer, Pete Sampras and talented players like Anna Ivanovic and Gael Monfils. Association of GAIL with the team is a reflection of how young we are in our thoughts and the appreciation of being fast.
The Indian leg of IPTL was scheduled for 6-8th December 2014. There was interest on all fronts about the event and the three matches that were to be played at INDIRA GANDHI INDOOR NATIONAL STADIUM. We decided to share some goodies with the GAIL fans and followers by mounting a contest. A contest where winners would be picked basis how fast they are at answering a set of question on Indian Aces players and their knowledge of Tennis in India.
Our #GAILaces contest resulted in a tremendous response on both Facebook & Twitter. Our winner on Twitter was sports enthusiast Sandeep Roy and lucky winner Abhijit Singh Kashyap on Facebook.
