A great relief for people in the Capital of Kerala! After many complaints from the residents of Thiruvananthapuram a system for LPG checking has been put in place. This system will supervise and seal calibration units at Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) fuel pumps in the State. The facility is situated at the Priyadarshini Planetarium and was inaugurated by Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash this Thursday.
According to the article (The Hindu, https://goo.gl/m6HQYx) the government has allotted Rs. 10 Lakhs for the project. Kerala is the 5th State in the country to implement this supervisory mechanism. This step would encourage using more of LPG powered vehicles thereby reducing carbon emissions. This is a positive move for the state and the people who use LPG. Along with a demonstration of the verification process given at the inauguration, the government will ensure maintaining a strict vigil on whether customers are being provided the right amount of fuel for the price they pay.
