Indian Government allocated 1000 crore to Solar Energy

Narendra Modi-led government’s first budget has given high priority to renewable energy sector with an allocation of Rs. 1,000 crore for development of ultra large solar power plants(ULSP) and solar parks. This announcement is the first step to the vision of an energy sufficient country. 

At present, the Power Ministry is developing coal based Ultra Mega Power Projects or UMPPs. To control the use of non-renewable energy and promote a healthy environment a mega solar power plant is being developed and shall generate humongous energy and power.

    As per the researchers Lewis and Nocera, Japan for solar energy powering the planet. The world energy consumption rate was projected to double from 13.5 TW in 2001 to 27 TW by 2050 and to triple to 43 TW by 2100. While more sunlight strikes the earth in 1 hour
    (4.3 X10^20 J) than all of the energy currently consumed on the planet in 1 year
    (4.1 X 10^20 J in 2001).
