Superhero’s super bike

Ever wondered what a bicycle can do apart from taking you point A to point B.  An ingenious from Andhra Pradesh has forged a cycle into water pump to pump water from rivers, pond, wells and identical water sources.

This innovative mechanism came as sigh of relief to the poor farmers for pumping water for irrigation and cultivation of their farms. The machine is not only cheap and affordable for them but also portable, non-polluting and moreover it neither does require any electricity nor much of maintenance.

The machine encompasses a bicycle, rim, pelt pulley, impeller and inlet along with delivery pipes. The bare rim is placed in place of the rare wheel of the bicycle which is then connected to another pulley with a comparatively smaller diameter. The smaller pulley‘s shaft carries another rim for further speed increment and also carries a flywheel to increase the momentum of the machine. An impeller connected to the final shaft rotates at a very high speed and thus pumps the water. The power generated is used to pump the water that can be used in the agricultural processes.
