At the pre launch of ANGVA – 2013 a three day International Conference and exhibition Mr. B C Tripati, CMD, GAIL announced the proposed green corridor, the first of its kind in the country which aims to establish the natural gas highway. This green highway from Jhalandhar/Ludhiana to Bangalore will provide opportunities to inland transportation to operate on natural gas vehicles by expanding the reach of CNG beyond cities. This corridor will benefit eight states viz. Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana & Punjab.
A knowledge paper on ANGVA was presented by Mr. A F Mercados. The Knowledge paper showcases the emerging potentials of the NGVs in India; how the Gas supply dynamics will help the development of NGV industry in India; the policy and fiscal imperatives that need to emerge in the context of changing paradigms with the advent of newer technologies; the economics of NGV and the possible road map that can emerge in India for a sustainable NGV programme.
This event will be held at Greater Noida to promote NGV sector in India and will be inaugurated by Mr Oscar Fernandes, Union Cabinet Minister for Transport, Road and Highways, Government of India and the conference will be addressed by Mr Praful Patel, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
