GAIL receives Award for green building

The Administration Building at GAIL Chhainsa Compressor Station Complex was awarded as 4 Star GRIHA Rating, at GRIHA Summit 2014 held on 16th  January 2014 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The GRIHA Plaque was received by ED (Projects) from Mr. Tarun Gogoi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam and Dr. RK Pachauri, Nobel Laureate & Director General, TERI. GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) is a green building rating system in India, conceived by TERI and adapted by Government of India as a national rating.

The GRIHA Accreditation for Administrative building at Compressor Station Complex, Chhainsa will stand as a testimony to GAIL’s dedication towards making every effort for efficient use of energy and synergizing the built environment with the natural ecosystem.

The Award recognizes GAIL’s sustainability initiatives and dedicated policy of making every possible effort for preservation of natural environment, efficient use of energy and its conservation to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and nature.
