Bhimavaram 5 June , 2017. Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas Sammelan was organized at Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh by GAIL (India) Ltd.
Chief Guest Mr P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation addressed a gathering of more than 2000 people at V.S.S Gardens, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh . P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju explained in detail about the achievements of Govt of India.
GAIL operates a pipeline networkof11,000 km. In the last 3 years, the Company has started work on increasing its network by another 5,000 km.
It is constructing the 2619 km Jagdishpur – Haldia & Bokaro – Dhamra pipeline, popularly known as Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga, which will carry natural gas to eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. The Government of India is providing budgetary support of over Rs 5176 crores for this important infrastructure project.
GAIL is also constructing the 1100 km Kochittanad – Bengaluru – Mangaluru pipeline which will bring natural gas to new parts of southern India.
GAIL has undertaken a number of projects in Andhra Pradesh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. These include contribution for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, contribution for Skill Development Institute in Visakhapatnam, providing mobile medical healthcare facilities, supplying aids and assistive devices to persons with disabilities, construction of toilets in schools, development of infrastructure in various areas and sports talent hunt competitions.
